Done with the paper for understanding why some kin Done with the paper for understanding why some kinds of stars are confused by random forest and taking a break from creating space weather bulletin prototype for a certain institute, I asked ChatGPT to describe my stars romantically. It will be our topic for dinner tonight. Which star are you? ⭐️ We certainly thought we are an eclipsing binary ⭐️⭐️ I wish to be a RR Lyrae when I grow old.Ending this post with Éarendel, the most distant star ever detected and only due to gravitational lensing (a wrinkle in space-time). In LOTR, Éarendel journeyed across from the West to the Middle-Earth and back, carrying the Morning Star. “Eärendil, the brightest of stars”🌟
Late lunch with a friend earlier and a quick walk Late lunch with a friend earlier and a quick walk through the city afterward. Now enjoying a quiet Friday evening with hot Belgian chocolate, easy piano music and report writing with Obsidian, Pandoc and Latex. Thankful for the serenity. Grateful for the extended time to satisfy intellectual curiosity through an academic program. This is understated contentment. And yes, science and piano music are timeless.

Taken last week while waiting for a meeting on a potential thesis with a potential advisor.Haven’t had the chance to hear about all of the missions here but Rosetta’s orbital mechanics precision and landing are just jaw dropping. Reporting on a Venus mission, Envision, on a separate course pretty soon. Because well one of the huge legacies if not the main one of my academic and professional journey is simply put, geophysics. In this case, planetary physics. And finally Space Debris—might as well be the nudge that launched me here. To the young COO of a “New Space” German startup who scouted me for a job, for what it’s worth, thank you for the experience that reminded me: I was built for science. #builtforscience

Can‘t get enough of this. For a full week, it wa Can‘t get enough of this. For a full week, it was either the volcanoes national park or the bioreserve & tropical garden. There are parts of the bioreserve where one can stand still and just breathe in the surrounding trees. Enchanting.
Still can’t get enough of the Manawaiopuna Falls Still can’t get enough of the Manawaiopuna Falls (from Jurassic Park). This was a roadside stop. No shoulder, no parking space, so was very glad to chance upon it while driving, take a quick stop, walk back and enjoy the view.We also met a French couple and knowing my husband, they talked about food, while admiring the magnificence before us. By far, this view was my favorite. I was simply captivated, and could not take my eyes off of it, much less talk.
